Stripe is the most popular option, supporting credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets.

  1. Open your event in the dashboard
  2. Navigate to Payment Methods
  3. Select your preferred currency

Step 2: Connect Your Stripe Account

  1. Click the Stripe card
  2. Check the box agreeing to Stripe's terms and conditions
  3. Click Connect with Stripe
  4. You'll be redirected to Stripe's website

Step 3: Authorize on Stripe

On Stripe's website:

  1. Log in to your existing Stripe account, or create a new one
  2. Review the permissions Swarmtix is requesting
  3. Click Authorize to connect your account

Stripe uses OAuth for secure authentication. Swarmtix never sees your Stripe password.

Step 4: Confirmation

What Gets Connected

When you authorize Stripe:

  • Swarmtix can create charges on your behalf
  • Funds go directly to your Stripe account
  • You manage payouts through Stripe's dashboard
  • Swarmtix collects a platform fee automatically

Setting Up PayPal

PayPal setup is simpler - just provide your business email address.

  1. Open your event in the dashboard
  2. Navigate to Payment Methods

Step 2: Enter PayPal Email

  1. Click the PayPal card
  2. Enter your PayPal Business or Premier account email
  3. Click Save

Use a PayPal Business or Premier account. Personal accounts have limited features for receiving payments.

How PayPal Payments Work

  1. Customer selects PayPal at checkout
  2. Customer logs into PayPal and confirms payment
  3. Funds are deposited into your PayPal account
  4. You withdraw from PayPal to your bank

Setting Up Bank Wire Transfer

For direct bank deposits without third-party processors.

Step 1: Access Payment Settings

  2. Navigate to Payment Methods

Step 2: Enter Bank Details

  2. Fill in your banking information:

How Bank Wire Works

  • Payments are collected by Swarmtix
  • Payouts are processed monthly
  • Funds are transferred directly to your bank account

Bank wire transfer has higher fees (4.4% + $0.99) because it includes both payment processing and payout handling.

Selecting Currency

Before connecting a payment gateway, select your event's currency:

  1. Go to Payment Methods
  2. Choose currency from the dropdown (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.)
  3. The fee structure will update based on your selection

You cannot change currency after selling paid tickets. Free tickets don't lock the currency.

Troubleshooting

Stripe connection failed

  • Ensure you have a verified Stripe account
  • Check that your Stripe account is in good standing
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

PayPal payments not working

  • Verify the email matches your PayPal Business account
  • Ensure your PayPal account can receive payments
  • Check for any PayPal account limitations

Currency mismatch errors

  • Your Stripe/PayPal account must support the selected currency
  • Some currencies require specific account configurations

Can't disconnect payment method

  • Check if you have sold tickets (refund them first)
  • Contact support if issues persist

Best Practices

  1. Test before launching - Process a small test payment to verify setup
  2. Monitor transactions - Regularly check your payment dashboard for issues
  3. Set up notifications - Enable email alerts for successful payments
  4. Keep accounts active - Dormant Stripe/PayPal accounts may have restrictions
  5. Understand fees - Factor processing fees into your ticket pricing
