Zoom Integration

Connect Zoom and run live sessions using Meetings or Webinars

Zoom Integration

Swarmtix integrates with Zoom so you can run Live Sessions for online events. You can choose between:

  • Zoom Meeting (interactive; included in Zoom Pro/Business)
  • Zoom Webinar (one-to-many broadcast; requires Zoom Webinar add-on)

If you don’t have a Zoom Webinar license, choose Zoom Meeting in the Live Session settings.

Connect Zoom (Hosts)

Zoom is connected per Host (a person who owns the Zoom account used for sessions).

  1. Open your event → Online EventsHosts
  2. Add Host
  3. Click Connect (Zoom)
  4. Sign in to Zoom and approve access

When the connection succeeds, the host status shows Connected.

Create a Zoom Live Session (Talk)

  1. Open your event → Online EventsTalks
  2. Create or edit a talk (title, start time, duration)
  3. Open Video Settings
  4. Select:
    • Video Type: Live Session (Zoom)
    • Host: the connected host
    • Session Type: Meeting or Webinar
  5. Save

Saving creates (or updates) the Zoom session and stores the Zoom links for the talk.

Set the event timezone before creating talks, so Zoom sessions are scheduled at the correct time.

What Happens When the Talk Is Live

During the Live window of the talk:

  • Admins/hosts are redirected to Zoom’s start link (to start the session)
  • Attendees are redirected to Zoom’s join link (to join the session)

Disconnect Zoom

If you disconnect a host’s Zoom account:

  • Swarmtix removes the stored Zoom connection for that host
  • If talks are assigned to that host, you’ll be asked to confirm whether to disconnect and unassign

Troubleshooting

“Webinar license required”

Your Zoom account doesn’t have the Webinar add-on. Use Zoom Meeting or purchase the Webinar license from Zoom.

“Unauthorized / insufficient scope”

Disconnect and reconnect Zoom so the correct permissions are granted.

“Token expired / please reconnect”

Disconnect and reconnect the host’s Zoom account.
