What the check-in app does

• Scans tickets. Point the phone camera at the QR code or barcode on a ticket. The app checks it against your event and records the check-in.
• Shows who is at the door. Each scan shows the attendee's name, ticket type and, for reserved seating, the section, row and seat.
• Catches used tickets. The app counts how many times a ticket was scanned. A count above 1 tells staff the ticket was already used, which also helps with re-entry and multi-day events.
• Finds people without a ticket. Search by name or email and check a guest in by hand, or type the 10-character security code from the ticket.
• Works at several doors. Check-ins sync across devices in real time, so every entrance sees the same list.
• Shows real-time attendance. See how many guests are checked in against tickets sold while the doors are open.
• Sells at the door. Door sales mode lets you sell tickets at the entrance too.

It works for general admission and reserved seating events.

How check-in works on the day

1. Before the event. Download the app and sign in with your Swarmtix account. Invite door staff to your team with the "Mobile App Only" role, so they can scan tickets and look up attendees in the app.
2. Test it. Scan a test ticket on every phone you will use, and check the internet signal at the venue.
3. Doors open. Staff scan each guest's QR code from their email or a printed ticket. The guest's name and ticket type show on screen.
4. Handle problems fast. No ticket? Look the guest up by name or email. Scan count above 1? Ask if they entered before and check their ID.
5. After the event. Export the attendee list with check-in status as CSV or Excel for your reports.

Check-in needs an internet connection and has no offline mode, so keep a printed attendee list as a backup. The check-in guide covers scanning, manual lookup and multi-device check-in in detail.

Free for free events, included with paid tickets

Free events are free on Swarmtix, with no cap on how many free tickets you issue. They get the same check-in app and in-person tools as paid events.

Paid events pay $0.99 + 1.5% per paid ticket plus Stripe processing. There is no monthly fee and no extra charge for the check-in app. You choose to absorb the fee or pass it on to buyers, and payouts go straight to your own Stripe account.
