Assumes US fees, US cards, and that you (the organizer) pay the fees. Eventbrite: 3.7% + $1.79 service fee per paid ticket and 2.9% payment processing per order, from Eventbrite's US pricing page. Swarmtix: $0.99 + 1.5% per paid ticket, plus Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ per card payment. Checked October 2026. Free tickets cost nothing on both.
For paid tickets in the US, Eventbrite charges a service fee of 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket. On top of that comes a 2.9% payment processing fee per order. On a $20 ticket that is $3.11, or about 15.6% of the price. The fixed $1.79 hurts most on cheap tickets.
Swarmtix charges $0.99 + 1.5% per paid ticket. Card processing goes to Stripe at its normal rate, and the money lands in your own Stripe account when someone buys. Free tickets are free, with no limit.
Yes. Both platforms let you add the fee on top of the ticket price at checkout. Lower fees still matter then: your attendees see a smaller total, which helps more of them finish checkout.
